Construido de hormig\u00f3n armado de 250mm de grueso y revestido con chapa de bronce al f\u00f3sforo de 8mm de espesor, que se fabric\u00f3 en taller con un despiece de ocho partes y se montaron in situ con soladura aut\u00f3gena para conseguir la precisi\u00f3n propia de un instrumento astron\u00f3mico.
